Final scope depends on door type, opening condition, selected package, and on-site verification.

What is the difference between slab replacement and prehung replacement?

Slab replacement changes only the door panel when the existing frame is sound, square, and suitable. Prehung replacement replaces the door and frame together, which can improve fit, sealing, alignment, and long-term operation when the old frame is worn or damaged.

Do I need full-frame replacement?

Not always. Full-frame replacement may be recommended when there is rot, water damage, damaged trim, poor sealing, threshold failure, an out-of-square opening, or when the homeowner wants a more complete door-system replacement.

If the work disturbs painted trim, frames, jambs, thresholds, or exterior surfaces in a pre-1978 home, lead-safe requirements may apply. EPA says paid contractors who disturb painted surfaces in pre-1978 housing generally must be certified in lead-safe work practices.
